Venice Awash

A crackling sound followed by a torrential rain in the city of waterways saw everyone scrambling for cover and brought a respite to the normal pedestrian business in Saint Marks Square. These welcome moments changed the very mood in Venice, where I was surrounded by hushed crowds gathered under protective porticos and just staring in awe as we all relished a very specific moment in time.
