Resting Manatee

Manatees spend about half of their time sleeping, or in what is sometimes called a state of suspension. For me, scene and the lighting was already rewarding, but then when this cormorant came paddling by the sleeping manatee, it was an invitation to be shared. Each of us in this fleeting moment seemed quite content. Live and let live!
