North of the South Pole

After emerging from a powerful storm that anchored our vessel for more than 24 hours these Icebergs floating in the Southern Ocean offered the appearance of crafted seafaring vessels, and were a welcome sight. The gleaming flotations, back-dropped here by lustrous Antarctic mountains, expose only about ten percent of their mass above the waterline. Despite the capacity of modern travel, and the large population of eager travelers, the elegance of the southern polar region is comparatively hardly known.
