This lovely landscape of Gansu Province in western China features colorful swatches of the copper minerals brushed into the mountainous terrain. The historic Northern Silk Road was built in this area known as the Hexi Corridor, and for millennia, it connected Asia to Eurasia, operating as an essential and enriching trade route.
