An omnivorous black bear is eating his greens is southern Alaska. Scientists estimate a population of some 100,000 individuals associate with the black bear community in Alaska alone. Black bears are the smallest North American bear. While black is a typical coloration for their coat, the color can range from black to white, with brown, cinnamon, and even bluish looking shades.
